Everything. The location was perfect, right in town, close to the supermarket, bars and restaurants.
The decor of the property is stunning and very well thought out, someone has an excellent eye for detail and design.
The rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
The hosts are super welcoming, friendly and kept us very well informed throughout, including making an excellent recommendation for dinner at the Titanic Restaurant, which is also superb with the friendliest host who cooks amazing steak and provides excellent wine.

We stayed in a bungalow Grifo, which was divided into 2 parts: an entrance hall and a bedroom, in addition to a double bed there was a bunk bed for children. The room was clean and bright.
The view from the room was amazing. To each bungalow goes its own path, so that visitors from other bungalows will not walk in front of your windows.
The territory is quite large and well maintained, in the main building there is a restaurant, viewing terrace.
The spa area under the restaurant has a room with Jacuzzi, hamam (really hot, It would be better if there was a cold water tap in the hamam) and sauna (each room with panoramic windows).
The breakfast is good and varied.
A few kilometers from the hotel by car stunning trails down to the river.

This area is beautiful, the views from the surroundings and from the Castle stunning. A hidden gem that you should visit at least once in your life (I believe some famous Portuguese author said the same about it). The walk using the "Passadiços" near the river is also great. Taking a canoe to explore around makes it even nicer. There are a couple of Museums that sound like they are worth the visit, but to be honest, I was always spending time outside. Might be a good reason to return. The restaurant O Castelo is worth it, but the same cannot be said by the restaurant at the Alamal River Beach. While the beach is great, I would not eat there. I'd rather pack a pick-nick case and go for it.

A very small town.
A very small town. If you're planning on staying several days, bring any needed beverages/snack foods with you, as there is only a tiny store in the town.
It's a great place to visit while the medieval fair is on--in mid-June. Be warned that the local restaurants shut down so you have to eat at the stalls at the fair (good food; not a hardship!)
What a beautiful place. Family owned & run. Very friendly. The hotel is laced in dark oak. Our room was large & tastefully decorated with a small balcony overlooking the Tagus River. Bed was comfortable. Lots of hot water! Most importantly, the entire hotel was spotless clean. Highly recommend!
