The island is really pretty with some lovely beaches & great restaurants & cafes. The local people are pleasant & welcoming. Great place to relax. The island is let down by its transport links. We were staying in Vathi & the ferry no longer goes to Vathi. There is no bus timetable on line (not released yet for 2019 - & it’s September!). We travelled on Sunday & didn’t know the bus doesn’t operate on Sunday. It was also generally inconsistent & unreliable (we think, but can’t be sure cos no timetable!). Small island with charm.
Small island with charm. Only two organised beaches, no buses, 2 taxis on the island which are ridiculously expensive, one petrol station, lots of yachty types in Vathy which is busy on Mondays. Ideal place if you're an extra in Cocoon or The Marigold Hotel!

Meganisi is a little paradise for those looking for a peaceful island away from the main tourist areas. People are friendly, food is great, and there are some secluded and not crowded beaches. It is also fantastic for running.

And it was a wonderful surprise: It was a remarkably beautiful calm and spacious apartment on two floors with two balconies. It was part of a wonderful well maintained facility with a lot of beautiful plants and flowers. Lady Eleftheria, the owner, was very very kind and offered us fruit and freshly self baked cake every day. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you very much for your hospitality, Eleftheria. Hope to come back some day. 😊

Hotel staff were very helpful and assited us making the most out of the day we spent at the island. The rooms are brand new, with spectacular view to the bay below. Great attention to detail. The food was excelent. This type of restaurant was missing from the island as the other options are all more traditional taverna style. We had a treatment at the spa which left us feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Meganisi is a beautiful island not too busy (yet). The villa is located close to beautiful Famari beach, Arherinos bay with tavernas and Vathi port with cafes, bars , restaurants etc. Note that you will need a car to move around, which you can park right outside the villa.PANAGIOTASwitzerland

Great communication with the hosts - they were extremely helpful and provided us with all the useful information and more. House is in perfect location for exploring Meganisi, very well equipped, has enclosed parking space , plenty of outdoor space for chilling, great WiFi signal. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owners with a bottle of wine and some good advice about the place. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend their holiday in Meganisi!

Breakfast was perfect with fresh baked pastries each day as well as a lovely selection of other breakfast choices all served on the terrace with a lovely view into the harbour perfect blue water and skies. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive.

You get an astonishing view of the piers and the port from the balcony, with all the tavernas and restaurants/bars around. Perfect place for your stay on the beautiful Meganisi Island. It's in a peaceful spot but is only a 5 minute walk into the lovely village of Spartochori. Meganisi is a magical place to stay.
