Loved the character of Villa Margaretha! The two-story suite was spacious and very clean. It was quiet at night but still centrally located. The front desk was always helpful and gracious. Looking forward to coming back soon :)

Tartu is the second biggest city in Estonia, it has lots of places to visit, like museums, science centre, shopping centres, theatre, there are lots of walking to do, there are great local transport links in Tartu, there are plenty of hotels,B&Bs, plus apartments to stay in, most of the big shopping centres are in the city centre, there is also a free bus that takes you to one of the biggest shopping centres in Estonia, just on the outside of Tartu, that shopping centre is very big, and takes about two hours to walk round, it has a lot of different store, restaurants, etc there.
The local buses are also great to use,buy a tartu bus card, tap and go, or, buy tickets at Tartu bus Station, there are local buses, and city buses, there are lots of them, make sure to get a map, as it is a little difficult to know where to go/get off, if you do not know the area.
By the river, across the foot bridge from the city centre behind the market, you will find a nice beach area for summer, it is lovely there, and sandy, plus changing areas for everyone.

Fell in love with Tartu!
Fell in love with Tartu! An absolutely amazing city with a wide range of museums and activities, cosy and variable dining places, perfect for strolling and cycling around... So much to discover! I will surely return!
Try out the city museums, observation tower, printing history museums, science center, spa center, public transportation is easy to use and takes you all around town with an ease. Yet, one can also rent city bikes to move around 😀

Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at.
Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at. With the river running right through it it has everything you can wish for. It is busy enough to get whatever you want, but also to feel almost alone enjoying the lights around the river lights during the evening.
Also a lot of nature in a short drive away.
It's a beautiful house and it gives you a great experience and insight into Estonian houses as opposed to a normal hotel. Molle, your host is a lovely lady that can speak English well to help you with your stay. Your room has a kitchenette with oven, microwave, hobs, washing machine and sink. Everything you need. It's about a 15 minute walk from the city center with a bus stop nearby. Really great all round, Molle really makes you feel like it's a home.
We had a good small room on the second floor. We was lucky, room was equipped with air conditioning which was really needed, because there was a warm summer days in Tartu. There was a liquid soap and shower gel available. We think that location is good, not far from city center, there is a bus stop near the hotel and it takes about 10 minutes to the city center. Free parking place. Free Wi-Fi.
Overall a lovely hotel. A large room and a decent breakfast (mostly nordic/english, no baked goods for you sweet tooth). Premises close to the wonderful Estonian National Museum and a manor park to take a stroll is just accross the road. Most comfortable if you are by car. However, pedestrians can benefit of citybike/scooter services that are available near the hotel (if it is the season).
Great location: it's right in the Old Town and on the "bar" street of Tartu. The breakfast was a big surprise for me in a good way. I thought it was just another breakfast buffet, but it's not. It felt it was like a lunch buffet. I believed the gelato made everyone happy, including me. The use of technology in the hotel worked like magic: super convenient.
I liked the helpfulness of the staff. It is still not unusual in parts of Eastern Europe, as Estonia obviously is part of, that staff sees a guest who asks for help or guidance as a burden. This was not the case in the Dorpat Hotel - the staff consisted of young women who spoke in a better English than myself, and were very helpful.
Excellent location right in the middle of Tartu, with fee parking included makes the hotel an ideal spot for the travelers. Spacious room with the windows to the side street made for a comfortable stay. The welcome drink was a nice touch and excellent breakfast served as a perfect start into the new day.
Unconventional approach to reception services sets it apart from traditional hotels, offering a refreshing and smooth check-in experience. We really loved it. The combination of great central location and modern interior makes it a standout choice and provided good value for a stay in Tartu.
Everything was perfect! Deserves the highest rating. Host was friendly and shared great recommendations for exploring the wonderful city of Tartu! The apartment has everything you would want for your vacation. Tastefully decorated.
Location is very good. Very central. All favourite land marks and museums could be reached on foots. Exept National museum if Estonia (is 2,5km/ ~30min) seemed for us far away 🤣🤣
Good breakfast
Staff was exceptionally professional and friendly ❤️ Alltogether the whole stay was perfect! It was my first time there and definately going back - top 5 favourite hotels in Estonia for sure.
Excellent location, right next to the AHHAA science center, 10m walk to old town and the University of Tartu. A lot of restaurants and supermarkets around the hotel. Free parking is a bonus.
20 minute walk from the centre on the northern side of the river in Tartu or catch bus 4. A pleasant walk to the Estonian National Museum. Free parking and a decent breakfast. Grear value!
The location is by far the best you can get in Tartu. It's just a few meters from the old town and next to the Emajõgi River. The room was very clean and fulfills all your basic needs.
The owners are very very friendly and helpful. They were helping me for any questions! Big thanks to them for anything! Peace and friendship forever for Estonian and Russian people!
Not the first time staying at the Tartu hotel and hopefully not the last time. Everything is great - the location (50m from the bus station) the breakfast and the room itself.
