Hermanus is a beautiful quiet city.
Hermanus is a beautiful quiet city. Close to many Shopping Malls and not even crowded. Our host, Kosie, went out of his way to make our stay in Hermanus memorable. Even concerned about our safety when the storm wreaked havoc in other parts of the Western Cape. Kosie, along with the owner of the accommodation, advised us to stay an extra night, free of charge and to rather travel home when it was safe to do so. Kosie and Owner, thank you so, so much for concerning yourself about your guests and put their safety ahead of monetary gain. Hermanus is a lovely coastal town with a great array of eating and drinking establishments. It has a nice feel about it and i wouldnt worry about walking around it on my own. The views are stunning and during the Whale Watching season it is truly breathtaking. There are some beautiful winerys around and lots to do. If you're coming over from the UK its great value for money.

Old Harbour Museum: Provides insight into the history of Hermanus as a fishing village and offers a glimpse into the local maritime heritage. Eating options: Bientang's Cave: A popular restaurant situated in a cave overlooking the ocean, offering seafood and other South African cuisine. Burgundy Restaurant: Known for its fine dining experience and extensive wine selection. The Fisherman's Cottage: Offers fresh seafood dishes in a cozy setting. Getting around Hermanus: Hermanus is relatively easy to navigate, with most attractions within walking distance of each other in the town center. Taxis, rental cars, and local buses are also available for longer distances or to explore the surrounding areas. Things to avoid on your next visit: Overcrowded areas during peak tourist seasons, which might diminish the experience of tranquility that Hermanus offers. Friendliness of everyone was awesome. Everywhere you went you felt safe and welcome. Very easy to get around. Loved the hiking trails. A must-have is comfortable shoes and clothes for all weather types, because you walk a lot and the weather changes very fast.

It offers a great balcony with a braai, comfortable chairs and table and a perfect sea view. Every gadget that can make you feel at home right down to a full spice rack. The apartment was beautifully clean and comfortable. One can do a little walk on the rocky beach. It is a quite part of Hermanus, but lots of restaurants/shops are just 5-10 min drive away. Rooms are specious and comfortable. Breakfast delicious. Staff is very professional and friendly. Our special thanks to Nomsa for all her efforts to make our stay memorable and so enjoyable. She is a real asset for the business.

However, the wonderful staff at V&L upgraded us to the spacious Sky Room with a separate lounge, big open balcony with the most incredible views over the sea and the main Hermanus village. The facility included a useful kitchenette, plus access to a pool. This was an exceptional stay and would recommend the Harbour House Hotel on the square anytime.KathySouth Africa
