Sun, Sand and The Strip!
One of the best Algarve resorts, Albufeira has wonderful beaches, turquoise waters and the dramatic, rocky coastline that makes this part of Portugal so special.
Naturally, life here is all about sun, sand and sea. The most popular Albufeira beach is Fisherman’s Beach and you can still see locals bringing in the fishing boats every morning - if you’re up early enough, that is. Tunnel Beach is accessed through an opening in the cliff, and both have a variety of water sports.
Further up the coast is Albufeira Marina, from where sightseeing boat trips depart, while east of the town is the 9-hole Balaia golf course. On the way here, you pass Arias de Sao João, home to The Strip where the best bars and clubs are found, many staying open until the early hours.
The Old Town of Albufeira is more peaceful, and its cobbled streets house Moorish buildings and some great restaurants serving fresh fish. If you fancy a day trip from Albufeira, the 12th-century remains of Moorish Almoáda Castle in Paderne can be visited for free.
The town is around a 45 minute drive from Faro Airport and there is a fantastic range of beach resorts, small B&Bs and Albufeira apartments at Booking.com.

Definitely worth a visit. The old town especially is very beautiful, but be prepared for lots of hills! Plenty of places to eat and drink, great atmosphere, lots to see and do. Make sure you take a boat trip to the caves, well worth it.

Good place for various types of eating from very expensive to cheap and cheerful. Good walking shoes needed as there are lots of steps, slopes and much going up and down when moving about during a visit to the "Old Town" areas. Not good for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues.

I didn’t even have a working electrical plug in the bathroom, there’s no full length mirror in the room and the hallway was not vacuumed on a regular basis. Didnt like the area at all, its only fit for groups of lads and maybe girls, but if I was a woman I wouldnt feel safe there. The streets are horrendous with bricks and loose rubble evrywhere, it looks completly run down, nothing attractive about it at all.

Albufeira is a lovely beach town with a lot of kid friendly activities and nice options for the grown ups like cliff hiking too. The beaches are excellent. There are a lot of restaurants in town and various cuisines. Multiple beach resorts make it a perfect location for family vacations. Its very easy to reach from Faro airport or train station. In town its easy to move around via Uber etc, but best to have a rental car, there is parking easily available everywhere. We stayed at the Alfagar Village and it was a very good experience.KannanIndia
