Hotel Shekhawati, A boutique stay, hotel in Mandāwa

Hotel Shekhawati, A boutique stay is located in Mandāwa. Free Wi-Fi access and a 24-hour front desk are available. The ancient Haveli has traditional Rajasthani architecture.

An absolutely wonderful stay at this quaint property. Best parts.... 1. Mr pramod, the proprietor of the property is a fantastic host. It is apparent that he likes what he does. He involves himself in all tasks giving a personal touch...be it reception, guest queries, serving, setting up of a musical evening and even acts as chef. Someone who is helpful and ever cheerful. Fantastic interacting with him and his staff. 2. Rooms were clean, water continuous including hot water. 3. The food was absolutely scrumptious. Tried local dishes liked papad curry, sev tomato curry, ker sangri and a vegetable made of daal. Everything was tasty, served hot and the portion sizes were also good. 4. The property has a self contained parking that can accomodate about 7-8 large cars/SUVs. 5. Pramod also arranges a local guide for touring the havelis on request ...in our case mr Sahil who is also a singer. 6. Pramod organised an impromptu musical evening with karaoke that was entertaining to all guests. Several guests also participated in the karaoke singing. Once again it was a wonderful 2 evenings at the hotel. And much credit goes to pramod for the wonderful hospitality.

Vivaana, hotel in Mandāwa

A meticulously restored 19th century Shekhawati Haveli (private mansion), Vivaana features walls with mural paintings and artifacts.

The approach made us a little apprehensive but what we saw and experienced was magical. Do try and work out a few more engagements/activities to keep guests occupied like a haveli tour within 10 km radius etc

Each Haveli has its own character so a short visit to all is recommended esp. Sone Chandi ki Haveli, Chobdar Haveli, Thalia, Murmuria. A detour to Ramgarh, Nawalgarh and Mahansar ( for Sone ki Dukan) is highly recommended. Food is great at Mandawa Kothi, Castle Mandawa and Vivaana Hotel.

Mandawa is old world charm - an open art walking museum that has stood the test of time and reminder of the opulence of the merchants that inhabited the area. It has gained recent fame on account of all the mega block busters shot there. You should visit Mandawa for its culture, a quaint small Indian town that you should walk about and appreciate all the art pieces, and taste delicious food If Michelango painted the walls of Sevilla houses in interesting frescoes and that city got a huge hit of Indian culture (and animals wandering about), it would be Mandawa

Mandawa is a busy noisy dirty village with little to commend it, but it is well placed for visiting other towns and villages with Haveli's and temples. We particularly like Junjhunu and Fatepur and a guide would be useful as sites are not easy to find. In Fatepur Le Prince is completely shut up but the outdside is worth a look. However next door is a sign for a lawyer and we just walked into his Haveli which has some very well preserved and beautiful frescos. No charge, just a please and thank you. The entrance is through a small door in the big door. You may have to knock.

Nice little village with interesting Shekhwati havelis and wells. Actually, Nawalgarh, nearby is a more interesting town to visit. Roads are good so no problem in driving around. This place is ideal for a 2 night trip.

Its exactly as advertised...a tiny township which is the gateway to the frescoed havelis of the Shekhawati district. The roads are in pretty good condition, so driving is a good idea. Good choice of hotels, but be sure to check for parking if you are driving. People are waiting for tourist traffic to return.

Since the hotel does not have a website here is a description: This hotel was beautifully decorated with a restaurant and more rooms are being renovated. My room was very large with a king sized bed, air conditioned with a refrigerator and a TV. It had a large bathroom but the shower lacked an enclosure. Other rooms had a tub. The only drawbacks were that there was really only one electrical outlet available for my laptop and CPAP next to the bed and there is no elevator (my room was on the ground floor). It is an incredible bargin.

This was the first hotel of our India trip where we were greeted in perfect English. The hotel is beautifully restored and decorated, with comfortable beds and good showers. The restaurant is excellent, the pool area is well-maintained - this hotel more than meets the expectations of western travellers. We also liked the fact that the hotel had a tipping box for all staff, which avoids awkwardness when not knowing how much to tip the staff for the various services provided.

Beautifully decorated and maintained hotel. The room we were given was spacious with ornate, comfortable furniture and large modern bathroom, which included a bathtub (rarely found in India). Warm bedding and heater provided. Excellent, generous Indian breakfast which we took outside in the rooftop restaurant. Very helpful, friendly atmosphere. Good location. The whole town is a tourist attraction and the hotel is set right in it. We loved this place.

In the middle of the little township of Mandawa. The road to get it is a little congested, but the grounds are very spacious, with excellent parking available. The haveli is old and very picturesque. Rooms are very well appointed; bathrooms are clean and spacious. Food was excellent and so was service. We got a crackling log fire every night (it is very cold, being close to Churu) and ker sangri was made on request. Overall, very nice holiday.

We loved this place. It’s the only affordable accommodation in Mandawa, it’s clean, it’s quiet, in a great location and you can also eat there. Dileep the manager is very friendly and he can solve any problem or he can tell you the best options for your journey. Also the other guy that works here (I forgot his name 😓) is very kind. Highly recommend! 👍
