Before visiting Grindelwald I had only seen pictures of it in Spring and Summer so I was a bit apprehensive when I booked but it far exceeded our expectations. Its a wonderful place to stay in and we could've stayed here much longer.

I adored my hotel and the spectacular views.
I adored my hotel and the spectacular views. The First slopes were great and relaxing, the snow conditions amazing. One off-putting aspect was that there was a crazy traffic jam on the last 5-10km to Grindelwald on my way up there, and the same thing on the way home.

I always hesitate to sing Grindelwald’s many praises because I don’t want the secret to get out and for it to be overrun. However, each year that I return sees more and more visitors, so I suppose it’s not a secret anymore. For hiking, relaxing, and other activities, this is my heaven on earth. It is a special rural place with warm and friendly people, surrounded by sky scraping peaks that have you constantly bewildered by the landscape around you. It feels like coming home each time I visit, and I highly recommend it as a place to recharge your batteries and revel in the splendor of Earth’s beauty.

The information provided 15 minutes walk from the station is incorrect. The property is up on the hills, if you travel with suitcase you will push for an hour to get to the property. Their is a bus 112 from the train station and stop outside the hostel but we were not told when asked how to get to the hostel, the respond was bus or taxi without advising bus number. We and other travellers pushed our large suitcase for an hour uphill, was terrible experience. When arrive at the hostel, very rude receptionist greet us with un zipped. The common and breakfast area was nice but the room and linen were terrible, I have not stated in a poor service hostel like this one.

Excellent location to make your base for touring the Jungfrau region. Good mix of shops/restaurants and nature/sightseeing. You have the option of staying in town or more peace and quite at outer edges. Access to a lot of activities including skiing, paragliding, etc. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Con would be, area is very touristy and a bit expensive.
Amazing hotel, well worth the money. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Amazing mountain views from the balcony. Excellent location, breakfast, swimming pool and spa facilities. Hotel has a garage. Grindelwald is a lovely little Alpine resort, very peaceful. Stunning views of Mount Eiger. The train ride to the Top of Europe at Jungfraujoch is fantastic and when you get there you can do the world’s highest altitude zip wire at nearly 12,000 feet above sea level for only 20 CHF which was brilliant.
Check-in staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. Location was excellent, close in proximity to Grindelwald First visitor's centre. Our room looked onto the highstreet and mountains which was lovely. Lots of restaurants close by and around a 10 - 15 minute walk to the train station which was ideal. The main hotel (from what we saw) was beautiful.
The room has a balcony that is very relaxing.
Breakfast has great varieties and very tasty.
The hotel is a bit far from the train station, but the bus stop is just in front of the hotel, so it is still convenient.
The owner suggested us to a dinner place and it is the best food and view that we enjoyed at Grindelwald. Thank you!
Good location, only one bus stop away from the main train station. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Easy access to the Grindelwald terminal (the terminal for the gondola of the Eiger express) and also close to the cable car for Grindelwald First station. Our room had a very good view over looking the mountain.
Fantastic location, right in the heart of Grindelwald. Wonderful spacious room with astonishing views. The hotel has some excellent facilities and I would recommend a meal at Barry's Restaurant, the food was excellent. Staff we super helpful. This is an excellent hotel, highly recommended.
The convenience to the Grindelwald train station was a huge plus. Delicious breakfast was included and served by hospitable staff. It's also a friendly family-owned hotel with very kind staff. The value for the cost was worth it. Would stay here again!
The location of the hotel away from the city is so relaxing!! To wake up in the morning and look at the beautiful mountains of Switzerland 🇨🇭 is amazing!!
The restaurant is also great, we had breakfast and dinner and we were really satisfied
Breakfast was excellent, and they had the best breakfast during our visit to Switzerland. The spa was good. The hotel is close to grindelwald first. They also include free bus pass, which was helpful in the mornings.
Great location, just a few minutes walk to the Eiger Express Gondola. Easy to catch the bus into Grindelwald town. The breakfast was very good, and hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are impeccably clean.
Best hotel we stayed in Switzerland! The room was clean, breakfast selection was decent and the staff were all so helpful. The view was also breathtaking! Had a great stay in Grindelwald because of hotel cabana :)
The interior of the hotel is a bit dated but overall ok. The location is very good because it is between the train station and grindelwald First cable car. Breakfast has a wide selection too.
It's a classic hotel and very good for a nice experience staying at typical Switzerland's village/small city. Plus the view from hotel is just AMAZING. Staffs are also super friendly.
Breakfast was very good, and the people running the hotel were very kind. Plus, the location, right near the center of Grindelwald, but down a quiet street, can't be beat!
The breakfast was just as good as nicer hotels that we stayed in while traveling in Switzerland. It was our first time staying in a hostel. It met our needs.
The staff are really nice!, breakfast buffet is wonderful! The view of the room are really nice!and location of hotel near train station only 30 sec!!!!!
The hotel was situated in a good location walkable from Grindelwald Bahnhof and walkable to Firstbahn. The room was charming, cosy, spacious and clean.
