The Hague is a lovely city to visit for a very relaxing short break. Beautiful architecture and very clean and quiet with lots of lovely restaurants and bars to choose from. It was much cheaper than Amsterdam and is a good mix of a nice city break with the bonus of a beautiful beach with nice bars and eateries on the seafront. We were only there for 24 hours in March but would love to come back in the summer for a little longer to enjoy the beach. It seems the perfect place for families with young children as it is so relaxed with good entertainment for children along the beachfront. Easy enough to get around without a car. We travelled by train from Rotterdam then went onto Amsterdsm by train which was all really easy and efficient. We were able to walk everywhere in the city but would have rented a bicycle if we were staying longer as the beach is quite a long walk from the centre. We found a lovely Argintinian steak house just off the main square where the food was excellent, service great and prices very reasonable.

We liked the visitor center for the International Court of Justice and enjoyed the art museum and the MC Escher house. We enjoyed O'Casey's pub and Fratelli Italian restaurant. We took a tram out to Scheveningen to walk on the pier, watch dogs frolic on the sand, and saw one intrepid couple take a zip-line from the tower down to the beach.

    Glad I went at Christmas.

Glad I went at Christmas. Went to the prison museum which was really interesting Eur15 adult and Eur7.50 under 18. Mauishaus is free under 19. Eur19.50 19 & over. Personally I think it was over rated but then I’m not a great art lover! Free walking tour was amazing. Obviously you are expected to tip at the end but Ronald was informative and showed me places I wouldn’t have found. 2 hours in length. The area of bluff is interesting. All properties circa 20 years old but look historic. 7 palaces to view from outside. Can walk the royal gardens which is so close to the King. Leiden is an 11 minute train ride circa Eur9. Always buy your ticket online via ns.nl otherwise you pay Eur1 for a ticket

I enjoyed walking along the water ways and into the old town to visit bookstores and coffee shops. The way-finding signs are good and you just have to watch out, as always in Holland, for the swift bike commuters! Good neighborhood grocery stores and friendly pubs on every corner.

In the King’s City, you can experience a vibrant mix of international flair and a posh city center. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Mauritshuis, where you can admire masterpieces like Vermeer’s ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring.’ Unlike the bustling and tourist-heavy Amsterdam, The Hague offers a more relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. The city’s charming streets, diverse cuisine, and rich history make it a must-visit destination.

Rooms are spotless, very quiet for an hotel in the city center, the garden/park is lovely. Breakfast is absolutely outstanding, best breakfast spread I ever had in a hotel. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, it was raining and they gave me an umbrella to go out that I gave back at the reception when I came back from dinner. They have a garage as well which is very useful in The Hague. 200% recommend anyone to stay there, and I will myself definitely be back as well.

Friendly and helpful staff. Delightful modern tasteful decor throughout building. Location is perfect to walk into town or even for a longer walk or tram to Scheveningen beach. We always stayed at other hotels in The Hague, which are also good, but found this hotel the best for the areas that we frequent when we visit. Fantastic breakfast.
