Location and how cool it was to have a hot spring next to the river. The staff was very sweet, the mother hugged us as we left it was so cute.

A beautiful ecolodge in the centre of the oasis! The rooms are basic but comfortable, the hosts are extremely kind and helpful, and the food is delicious. Cozy and comfortable, a great place to stay after a long day of trekking or to prepare for the final ascent :)

The location was breathtaking, the view from the rooms, and the restaurant were magnificent. The staff were super friendly. They offered us a new year’s menu that was not only delicious, but included typical dances from the staff and other activities.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde. There is only one official bus (Andalucia) and it departs from Arequipa very early or too late. There are also collectivos people can take to get there (local buses). Once there, the village is great, people are so helpful and the hikes are amazing!
Please not there is no where to take money out, you absolutely need cash for everything.

The people are really nice.
The people are really nice. I lost my wallet, while paying the fees to get in the park. I went down to Sangelle for one night, and the man (Patricio) who found it, brought it to the tourist place. They called every hotel down to reach me and kept it safe until the next day.
A big thank you!

Hiking Colca Canyon was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Breathtaking scenery with a unique flora and fauna. I highly recommend the hike from Cabanaconde - Oasis - Llahuar - Cabanaconde). Cabanaconde itself is a very small, rural town with lovely and traditional inhabitants.

An incredibly quiet non-touristy destination that we had chosen to get an additional view of the condors without the crowds. It was a great stay for the evening and gave us another glimpse of life in a quiet Peruvian town. People were very friendly and helped us with directions without being asked.

Cabanaconde is a small, peaceful, and friendly Peruvian town...
Cabanaconde is a small, peaceful, and friendly Peruvian town perched on the edge of Colca Canyon, and a perfect gateway to several great hiking trails. Eco-tourism mixes with local agriculture here, and the community seems to be adapting well to the influx of visitors - many new improvements underway.
It’s a cute little hostel in the middle of town. The beds were awesome, really comfortable and warm. Especially the host went to incredible lengths to give us an amazing time! He was the salesman in the shop, the guy at the reception and the server jn the restaurant. What a passion for this hostel the guy’s got! He helped us out with the different routes, options, gave his number in case of emergency. When my sister got ill, he helped us a lot. Special credits to this Leandro!
The location is just breathtaking and definitely worth the walk from Cabanaconde. Roberto is very friendly and helpful, and speaks English, which comes in handy.
Another plus are of course the hot springs and the nice food.
Finally, the fact that all lodges in the Colca canyon accommodate the free roaming guide dogs is just the icing on the cake.
Considering the secluded location and comparing it to other accommodations in Peru, the comfort and hygiene were astonishing.
Great place! Even though there were still constructions being done to the hotel, we felt right at home because of the extremely kind staff. When we arrived, we went to the family house of one of the owners. His mother made really nice food for us and we felt super welcome. Super nice now, but I’m sure this place will be even better once it’s completely finished.
although staff couldn't find our booking, once we arrive we've also been upgraded and it was very nice to have a bigger room than expected with hot shower. it gets cold very quickly once the sun sets.
They were also able to prepare a quick breakfast for us the following morning at 5am before staring our trek back to Cabanaconde! super nice :)
Nice location and nice room with bathroom!
Very comfy bed and pillows
Had everything needed for the short stay in Cabanaconde!
Very friendly and helpful owner, took us to Cruz del Condor (for a fee) to watch the Condors. Explained and helped us organising the trekking in the canyon!
Breakfast ok!
Lovely location midpoint on the Colca Canyon trek! Feels like a resort without resort pricing. We had our own private bungalow (very simple) for $20. The pool was great. The property was set up nicely. Lovely experience! The bed was also extremely comfortable. Feels like glamping!
Hotel on a unique location. Spectacular views on the canyon, even from the room. You almost have the same views as in the "mirador cruz del condor" but without the crowds ! Room was cozy, breakfast was very nice. Would recommend this experience when visiting the Colca Canyon.
We had a great stay at Las Palmeras. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We even did a tour with the owner, which took us to some incredible miradores that we missed because we arrived to Cabanaconde by collectivo.
Very good, filling breakfast. Nice bed and bathroom. Very conveniently located. Señor at the front desk was very nice. Overall great stay, and definitely better bang for your buck than the hostel next door. And they let us bring our cat!
Clean room, comfortable bed, electricity socket by the bed, wifi better than in many city hotels in Peru, hot shower, relaxing garden. And all if this for $13 while you are on your dusty survival trip through the canyon!
It is a good place to stay; not overwhelming but fine. The owner is kind and had a place for luggage while we were on a trekking. Breakfast is rather simple, but then it is like that in many hotels in Peru.
the hot springs at night was the highlight of the colca canyon hike, and the staff was super nice and helped us reserve a place in a different location for the next night of the hike.
Kind of oasis in the Colca Canyon, fantastisch pool to het rif of the dust of a day’s hike. Nice garden, don’t leave before breakfast, you netter climb to Cabanaconde on pancakes.
Exceeded our expectations in every way. Clean, modern and comfortable rooms, owners very friendly and welcoming. Perfect location, right on the way to Colca Canyon trek.
