We had dinner there and it was absolutely delicious. Beautifully maintained surroundings. Howler Monkey's can be heard off in the distance. The wonderful pool. The view! And the nice breeze at night. Spectacular place. And the staff were absolutely delightful! Darling people!

The location is excellent.
Nice to be out if town, with some fresh mountain breeze.
The villa we were in had a nicely finished bathroom (white, so it was nice & bright), and a comfy bed.
Great pool to cool off in.

There's something magical about this little beach community.
There's something magical about this little beach community. The vibe and energy are great- restaurants and bars with excellent food & drink everywhere. Locals and tourists are friendly and helpful. We know a tiny bit of Espanol but were able to communicate with no issues, and English is spoken more prevalently than I had expected. Can't wait to visit again!!

It is a busy town, with lots of surfers and retired folks living or visiting. Lots of motorbikes for getting around. Some excellent restaurants along the beach front including Henry's Iguana Bar, and Maggies' Restaurant up the street. Good fish tacos at little kiosk. Great beach walks, lovely sunsets and a few hikes to do. One to the Jesus protecting the bay and the other to the lighthouse on the opposite side of bay. Wear good shoes for those.

Great little beach town with numerous bars and restaurants with amazing sunset views. Very walkable even in flip flops. Not a bad meal to be found! Lots of fun places to watch American football if you like that.

everything is walking distance, you can get to the know the town easily just walking around. I liked Vivian restaurant, nice place, clean, friendly staff.
the beach was full of trash... plastic trash, cups, bottles, cookie wraps, cans... trash all over the sand and in the ocean and for some reason nobody seems to care. it was very impressive and quite sad.
Looking Good Surf House was a great place to stay!

The town wasn't as bad as I was expecting!
The town wasn't as bad as I was expecting! pretty calm in the day and evening, not sure about after that! we were there 2 days and for us that was just right. We went to Remanso beach one day and Maderas beach the other. Rented boards at each and tried to surf! Maderas waves were better, at least when we were there in April. We were at the beaches for about 5 hours each day. I didn't love the fact that Remanso had no shade and neither seemed to have much for facilities, except the few bars/restaurants that you kinda had to eat/drink at in order to have some shade or a shower or somewhere to hang out. Not really my favourite scene. SJDS itself was small town seeming in the center and easy to get around walking and lots of food options and the beach in town was great to explore with the kids, swim or watch sunset. It's easy to get in and our of either on bus from Rivas or taxi- 20$ from the Ometepe Ferry for 4 of us. 25$ to the border organized through Casa Oro.

In the town there are a lot of open sewers and the smell is bad in many places. There is a lot of trash here and there. There is a lot of trash around the beach. The food is ok, the prices are alright. The better prices are away from the beachfront.
Tamarindo is a much nicer and cleaner beach. The Nica's need to clean up the trash and the open sewers.

Staff at the hotel are great, the room was large, with a very comfortable bed. I thought the noise at night would be a problem because we were on the main road, but it was very quiet the 3 nights we stayed. The area felt very safe, and we walked around lots late at night without any issues. Breakfast was across the street at the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing and honestly that restaurant had some of the best food in town for other meals and with good value.
Very cool hotel, unlike any I have been too. They have a skateboard park, waterslide, waterpark, rock climbing wall and a bunch of other activities all blended into the resort. It was a pretty unique experience and not to mention the staff were super friendly and attentive, the landscaping was kept up, food was great and well priced, especially the Pizza, best pizza I have had in Latin America. Overall great stay and I recommend it to everyone!
It is a quiet and clean place close to the market, restaurants and the music bars in San Juan del Sur. This place has a clean kitchen and comfortable places to sit on sofas, chairs or hammocks. Maria studied English at elite international schools in Managua and was a corporate lawyer from a powerful family with high-level connections in government. But you need to think about your safety and security here.
This is a great place to hang out with the family for a few days. Our room was huge with everything you need including a big comfy king size bed. The pool area is excellent and the place is very well maintained and beautifully planted. The food is amongst the best we tasted in Nicaragua and the waiting staff in the restaurant were also incredibly friendly and attentive.
The best place to stay in San Juan Del Sur by far. The level of cleanliness is the highest you could wish for, it's an incredible job the lady does. And to all the staff who play the part in running a very friendly, helpful, relaxed hotel. All done with effortless professionalism. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else in San Juan before Chales House. Highly recommend.
Nice location at the top of the street so the view tl the bay is great. Nice rooftop. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast included and tasty. Towels available for free. Dorms clean and with everything you need for a good stay. Lockers available. Good wifi signal. This was a quiet option to stay in San Juan del sur.
The hotel was across the street from the beach - with easy beach access - walking distance to everything from town. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, modern, well maintained.
- Perfect location in the centre of San Juan Del Sur, close to restaurants, shops, beach and bus stop
- Friendly and welcoming staff, Javier was so helpful and made our stay great
- Clean and spacious room
Pool is amazing and great fun. The food was also very good. I expected a nice pool, the rooms and overall hotel was nicer than I expected. We had a great experience and I would recommend to stay here.
The decoration of the hotel is wonderful, and the breakfast is the best! I was totally in love with our room, really retro with a lot of little nicer touches!
It was right on the beach front. But the town is very small and you can walk to the beach in minutes from anywhere. The view was nice but that's about it.
