Absolute luxury! Our room was immaculate and elegant, with a stunning view. The staff are like none other! Everyone we came in contact with was engaging, friendly and helpful. A huge shoutout to Antonio in the restaurant. We ate dinner there several times and everything was spectacular. Antonio knows his wine, food and craft cocktails and his recommendations are solid! Breakfast is a feast and also excellent.
The salt water pool is heated and because this is a small hotel, it was not crowded.
The gym is airy, clean and well-equipped. The spa is lovely and access to steam and sauna rooms are complimentary. I had a massage from Cornejla and that too was top-notch. I would highly recommend her.
The hotel is located on a little paved community path which makes it easy to walk to other restaurants; and if nothing else, stroll past beautiful old villas and take in the stunning views.

Mr. Vjeko Martinko welcomed us warmly the evening we arrived. We enjoyed the location and ambience so much we extended our stay. The villa is set on the water. Each morning we enjoyed breakfast with an ocean vista. Access to the promenade is right below the villa. You can easily stroll along the water to Lovran or to Opatija. It was more than just a place to sleep. It was a place infused with history and art. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Located in Lovran on the Opatija Riviera, Villa Vera is surrounded by a Mediterranean garden. It has a glass-enclosed area with swimming pool and whirlpool, sun terrace and saunas.

Family owned/run hotel; Dunja is very nice and accommodating.
The hotel is beautiful, rooms spacious, beds are comfortable. We had an upgraded room on floor 3. Each balcony had a little bistro table & chairs where we could sit, have a drink and relax. It was lovely to also be able to sit in the room with the balcony doors wide open for the fresh air.
Heated floor & towel bars controlled by you in the room (as opposed to being centrally turned on/available for certain time periods in the AM & PM, which we experienced elsewhere in our travels). This is convenient for those who are handwashing items on a long trip.
The housecleaning staff was simply lovely—very friendly, welcoming and did a good job. So adorable!
Breakfast offering was good—including they will make you eggs to order.
A very good value offered for what we paid. We would DEFINITELY stay there again if revisiting Lovran (which is quite likely as it is very charming!)

This is our 5th visit to Hotel Marina. We look forward to coming every year. I love the comfortable beds and nicely sized rooms with the balcony, superb breakfast (all of the meals are good but breakfast is my favorite), and the proximity to the beach.
