Lovely sandy beachside town, friendly locals, great public transport especially the tram so easy to get to Ostend & Knokke-Heist. Fabulous bakeries !! We've been in the summer and winter as we have family living here. De Haan was lovely. It seems to be an upmarket seaside town. I imagine it would look amazing in the summer, although with the Christmas lights it was magical at this time of year. Not many options for restaurants and most were very expensive. There was a lovely pop-up bar (basically an alpine-style wooden hut) which was rammed full every night with affordable beers and great atmosphere.

Lovely beach, really wide and long.
Lovely beach, really wide and long. Great supermarket (Delhaize) for self catering. Easy transport along the coast using the tram. Nice little town and the only one with low rise buildings behind the beach unlike the rest of the Belgian coast which has high rise apartments.

Small town at the seaside. Nice beach. Restaurants, shops etc. Ideal for people and families who prefer a smaller more quiet place. Someone looking for a more vivid atmosphere may prefer Knokke or Ostende.

As a dessert fresh fruit salade and home made jam. Also home made cake is available during the day. The location is great, close by Brugge and only 1 hoir drive to Lille France. If you want to make a trip to there. De Haan city is a charming small city. There is enought to do with a lot of nice places to enjoy nice food. The beach is 10 minutes away. I had a great stay. Recomend everyone.

There are fantastic restaurants nearby and De Haan itself is a really lovely place to go on holiday to. So many great cities and towns within a short driving distance. Air con in some rooms which was great. We did bring some fans with us which helped. Great to have a washing machine and tumble dryer at the property. De haan itself is a lovely place with great restaurants, lovely clean beach, waffle shops and fun mini golf. We had a wonderful take away from Paname restaurant.

Nice and quiet, our room was at the back/side of the building and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok, enough to fill a hole but not to the same grand standard we'd experianced in Germany and Switzerland but for the price we paid, in De Haan, the price represents a very good deal.
