We stayed at this hidden gem with our family of 4 during a rainy period. The hotel and garden are beautiful and clean. The view is amazing. It’s located outside of the city, which we really liked because it was peaceful.
The personnel of this hotel were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, more than enough food. We had dinner once in the restaurant and recommend to try the Sri Lanka curry.
My oldest son, my husband and I had a very relaxing afternoon getting a spa treatment very good with reasonable price. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Then the Famous Temple of tooth relic (Before 8.00 pm) 10. Dinner at KCC 11, Back to Hotel. Day 02 on your way to Colombo. 12. A cultural eye-opener.
A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit. I didn't interested to see the famous temple and another one important thing is in commuting hours the traffic jam was remarkable and every one should calculate staying in the traffic in their schedule .

Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie.
Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie. Ella, Sigriya, Dambulla and Polonaruwa. Gateway to mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Kandy is also a historical town with famous Temple of Tooth. This town is best served with affordable eateries and several modes of transportation. Cooler weather compared to the Sri Lankan capital city, Colombo.
Very nice new hotel very close to the Kandy lake and to the city center. From the Kandy station it is possible to reach the hotel with a 20/25 minutes walk or with a short ride in a tuk tuk.
The rooms are quite big and provides all the necessary amenities. Bonus point for the shower with very nice pressure and very hot water (this was an exception considering the other hotel where we stayed during our trip in Sri Lanka).
The staff of the hotel has been very available to help us during our stay and to organise the next stage of our trip.
We had great three nights in this beautiful bed and breakfast. The house is beautiful with an amazing view over Kandy lake, the rooms are really big and nicely furnished and the bathroom had the best shower so far I had in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was so tasty and plenty. The staff was sooo nice and welcoming and looked after us while we had to fight against a fever and cold. They made us even hot water with lemon leaves for inhalation. We can recommend this place with our whole heart. U will enjoy every minute being here.
Everything! The rooms are really comfortable, lot's of room with good beds and pillows. The views are amazing! The hotel is a few minutes walk to the lake and town. The staff are exceptional. Chef looked after me cooking gluten free roti which was much appreciated. The food was very tasty. All the staff are helpful and friendly but Roshan stands out, he is a true professional. He made us feel at home straight away and will definitely be staying here on our next trip to kandy.
The staff were tremendously helpful from check in right through to the late check-out I was offered and made use of. My room was a good size with downstairs bathroom and a spacious balcony with a wonderful view across Kandy Lake to The Temple of the Tooth. Breakfasts were very substantial and tasty with a choice of Sri Lanka or Western food. I had one of each and they were equally good. The hotel is very central so you can walk to most places.
Rooms are very clean.
Bathroom was exceptional. Good water pressure and didn't take long for hot water to click.
Staff was very helpful and made my stay easy and comfortable.
Location was great as it is in the middle of the Kandy city and you can walk to shops and temple of tooth.
I also went to Bahirawakanda by tuk tuk and it's very short distance from the hotel too.
This hotel is one of the best hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka.
The best hotel we stayed at during our time in Sri Lanka! Amazing views across Kandy lake and the staff are all lovely, going above and beyond expectations.
We would especially like to mention one of the managers Asanka who went out of his way to ensure our stay was nothing but spectacular.
Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re staying Kandy, you’ll not be disappointed.
This is the best hotel I stayed. It is not so far from the Kandy town. But the environment is nice and clean. The hotel is very nice and has a small beautiful garden. Room is very comfortable. Great value for the money. Feel like home with the friendly manner of the owner. Thank you for the Sri Lankan breakfast you arranged. Everything was perfect and ultra clean ❤️
The breakfast was always excellent, whether Sri Lankan or Western. Staff was always attentive and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Clearly they are dedicated to providing a high standard of service. The hotel has a charming location in the hills with beautiful views of Kandy. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Hotel Cassendra Kandy offers an exceptional stay in the heart of Kandy. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, with stunning views of the city. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the on-site restaurant serves delicious cuisine. A perfect choice for a memorable stay in this beautiful Sri Lankan city.
Our best stay in Sri Lanka by far. Rooms felt like a very high end hotel, mattress extra comfortable, AC, good hot water, and a generator which is key nowadays in Sri Lanka with power outages. We loved the location, out from the hustle of the city but still very close. Great value for money, I highly recommend.
What a magical place. The best hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka so far. The views and the infinity pool are on point.
Special thanks to Isuru, who guide us in a short hike inside the property and explained to us about the different herbs and the uses for each and showed us pretty nice viewpoints in the area.
Better than the photos..very traditional hotel room at world standard..clean, comfortable, tv, tea coffee, fridge..great pool..you forget you are in Sri Lanka! The staff were just lovely. Stayed here as it's close to the Botanic Gardens not a tourist area real food, real life, real Kandy!
- Spectacular location. Probably one of the best panoramic view in Kandy
- Interior design of property is exceptional
- Owner and staff are so helpful and so attentive about every stage.
Suggestion - Arranging a tuk tuk /Taxi via property would be much convenient to reach the hotel.
Probably one of the cleanest rooms we’ve stayed in in our month in Sri Lanka. Friendly owner, no more than 10 min walk into Kandy centre. Also walking distance to temple of the sacred tooth. Free monkey show on the roof next to the hotel. Lovely to watch. All round great stay!
The hotel is in a superb position overlooking the town of Kandy.. In almost all directions, the view is of hills. Most rooms have good views of this amazing environment. The food and facilities are very good, with an excellent breakfast offering Asian and Western choices
Amazing luxurious hotel, in the heart of Kandy. Wonderful staff. First hotel we stayed in that has an elevator. Good food, quick service, very clean and comfortable. Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka with a wonderful view from the balcony
The rooms are very big and the hotel is spotless clean. The staff is amazing and so helpful. I definitely recommend this hotel ! If I come back to Kandy would love to stay again in this place .
Thank you to all the staff
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kandy.
The location is great, just a seeing distance from the Lake Round in Kandy. The hotel is located in a serene environment & the rooms were very clean. The staff is friendly too.
Booked a dulux suite - the view from the window is great. The hotel is in a hill top and it covers the view of mahaweli river and kandy and kundasale areas.
