Getting around is easy. Nice parks and resorts and tourist areas. I liked the tourist areas around Erbil, short day trips then you can go back to your hotel in the city.
I see that the government is working to improve tourism, however, there is still more work need to be done, investment in the parks and resorts is very important which will bring more tourist locally and internationally.

Our stay at the hotel was beyond exceptional!
Our stay at the hotel was beyond exceptional! This was mainly due to the front office receptionist (Ramen) who was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. Our entire duration was seamless and wonderful! It’s obvious the staff truly care about their guests and we will definitely be returning and recommending this hotel. Thank you so much again Ramen, you have made us loyal guests

I would stay in Ainkawa rather than Erbil, it is a waking area. Erbil is a car city, like Dubai or Jakarta. It is not a walking city like Kuala Lumpur or Paris.
If one has a car than Erbil area is nice, especially if one can go up into the mountains in the summer.

Erbil itself is an interesting historical city but you probably only need two days to visit most of the highlights. It's easy to get around as there is always a glut if taxis. It helps if you have gps and you know the local name of where you're going. Staying in Ankawa probably makes the most sense for any tourist as many of the best restaurants ( Fuul & hummus), bars (Dusk) and spas are there.
Erbil is also a perfect base for travelling the governorate including Haji Ormran, gslgurd mountain and Felaw pound, Bekhal, Gali Ali Bag, korek mountain and Shingalbana

A city full of history and culture. Survivors of thousands of years of war, still able to preserve their culture while embracing modern traditions and culture. so much to see, to do and so many beautiful people. Put it on your bucket list, you won't regret it.

Haval helped us to find a driver to travel around Iraqi Kurdistan: experience with him was good despite language barrier.
Aside from frequent check point ,country is safe and people are very friendly.
The location and staff is perfect
But the price and tax is so high
And I really didn't like the breakfast 😕
And as 5 star hotel doesn't having a pool is not making a sense, and the condiner system is general means u can't make the room temperature as u like which really bad
And for hotel guests its really not necessary to do these all checking and dog checking every time we go inside and outside
I did have the Buffet Breakfast, it was good, the food was presented well, hot, and appetizing. I sat outside and enjoyed the green area offered to guests. The room was quite comfortable. WiFi worked flawlessly. The location was centralized for my needs. A very nice experience. My first time at the hotel, and will stay again on any future trips to Erbil.
I have been to Erbil before but this time I am happy to say there is a fantastic hotel in Erbil. BL hotel was great in anyway specially the manager Mr Guran. He speaks fluent English ( rare in Erbil ) and I think he manages the place like his home. You feel comfortable all the time. Highly recommended. You get a lot more than you pay. Thank you guys
The employees are friendly and kind , and the reception staff are wonderful , especially Miss Nourhan the hotel manager who was very kind and generous to us 🌷.
The hotel was clean , tidy and quiet.
The breakfast was varied and rich, and the hotel’s location is almost in the center of Erbil , as it is close to most of the places we go to .
The staff and surroundings at Erbil Grand Palace made my stay in Erbil really special. Immediately upon arriving I felt welcome, and it is exceptional value for money.
If anyone from the UK (or further afield) is looking for a hotel in Erbil, I can recommend Grand Palace hotel whole-heartedly.
Excellent place to stay in Erbil. This hotel is within walking distance to the citadel and the Bazar. The hotel is excellent value and the staff (particularly Youseff on the front desk ) are amazing. I would not hesitaate to recomend the Janet Bludan Hotel.
This hotel was a great value. The location suited us very well. It is close to many great modern restaurants, but also allowed access to the tourist center as well. It is very upscal and comfortable. And the staff are always so helpful.
The staff went out of their way to accommodate me across numerous stays during my time in Iraqi Kurdistan. They were attentive and supported me when needed. They also provided me with gluten free products and a lovely welcome note.
Amazing place, amazing staff. So polite and helpful. As an Assyrian who had left iraq as a child to from New Zealand. It made my trip with my partner to Erbil that much better and amazing. Highly reccomend this place. Thank you!
