There was a bike ride that finished in the centre the day we stayed so it was very busy which added to the experience. Parking was not easy ,they give you very little room in the parking bays in the underground parking and forget about parking on the streets! We were there on a Sunday.
Loads of tapas bars to choose from. I would have liked to shop but not a lot open ,but it was a Sunday after all!
Look up , the buildings are wonderful.

There are restraints nearby where you can eat delicious Pinchos, so it was quite easy to get to. It was incredibly quiet from night to morning. Yes, there was no noise at all. I never once felt like I was in an unsafe place.
Next time I'll try taking the bus.

San Sebastian is really a great city for views: you have 2 mountains accessible on foot with great views on the bay (concha), the city and the ocean. There is also nice architecture (Art Nouveau), a great basque history/art museum (San Telmo) and a maritime museum with an aquarium.
And there is a great beach for surfing (Zurriola). So on the boulevards you can see side by side a surfer with surfboard and a very smartly dressed couple walking toward the Kuursaal.

Parks and beaches are beautiful.
Parks and beaches are beautiful. Food at some bars and restaurants is phenomenally good! I didn’t have time to visit museums, but I expect they are up to the quality of other aspects of public life. And people on the street and in the bars seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. (Although everyone seems to love a holiday weekend.)

The city is pretty and clean.
The city is pretty and clean. The food is excellent and varied leaning heavily to sea food. It is easy enough to walk around, there is taxi service for some of the attractions not downtown e.g. the stadium. Let me say, however, it is not as inexpensive as other places in Spain. Food can be pricey, especially some of the sampling meals in the restaurants. My Spanish is pretty okay, but, believe me Basque is not at all similar, fortunately, most menus, etc. are written in Spanish, French and English as well. The people are friendly and will work with you.

Beautiful city with amazing beaches, charming architecture, tons of amazing spots for pintxos, and a laid-back vibe. Public buses worked fine and there were taxis readily available during the day, but it's small enough to walk almost anywhere.
Everything! This is the most amazing hotel , a stunning grand historic beauty. After 4 days exploring the town , we can assure you that it has the best location in San Sebastion. We had a truly beautiful room with a gorgeous balcony looking out over the most picturesque panorama of the whole beach, the promenade and spectacular landmarks.. This hotel was the highlight of a 3 week trip in Spain. The bar is fabulous with a picture postcard view of the passing parade. The marble bathroom was huge with every amenity.
Staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful! Paulo and his family are the best hosts.
We checked in too early and left our luggage in the storage room. The staff helped moved our luggage into our room, while we were out.
Excellent location close to a beach and a short walk from the old town
Very clean, quiet and spacious room.
Balcony with window shutters.
Water pressure of the shower was very good. That´s not a given in many accommodation in Spain.
Lovely communal kitchen with a huge fridge.
Hotel Sansebay was a nice boutique hotel in a tucked away area of the Old Town therefore in a great location within walking distance to a lot of the eateries. Staff were amazing, always willing to assist, friendly and helpful. They offered a nice Welcome drink and went through the details of the hotel amenities and recommendations in a nice relaxed format.
I would stay at Sansebay again however in a different room as our standard room was too small. Look forward to seeing you again in the future.
New modern hotel in historic area close to the beach. Excellent location with countless excellent tapas bars and restaurants steps away from Hotel Atari. As this is San Sebastian, the food scene is the (Michelin) star of the show. Although adjacent to the busy Basílica de Santa Maria del Coro, the excellent sound insulation provided by the glass balcony doors kept the noise outside. The staff were warm and welcoming with a glass of wine offered on arrival. The breakfast choice was first rate.
The location was great for us, as we were only staying for one night (to break our journey) - the hotel is conveniently located for both Amara station and the main train station in San Sebastian. It's also very handy for the old town and the sea front.
The staff were very helpful. Our room was upgraded, so we had a lovely bay window (overlooking the street). The room was fantastic!
An excellent breakfast, complete with Basque cheesecake. The tea and coffee in the basement was a nice touch.
I like several things about this hotel - it exceeded my expectations. It is located in a trendy neighbourhood of San Sebastian - called Gros - full of wonderful restaurants. It is very close to the beach - 2 mins walk. You can reach the old town in a 15 mins walk on the beach promenada. I also liked the coffee / tea facilities on the floor and the free 'fridge' with water and refreshments. Very cool idea. The showet gel / soap / body cream had also a very nice perfume.
We loved staying in the lovely old building, much nicer than 4 star hotels, more a boutique hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We were very lucky with the weather so could swim opposite the hotel. A beautiful walk in to the old town at night for tapas, with the see on our left and very attractive architecture to our right. We liked everything and will return.
It was in a great location, lovely cafés for breakfast/lunch also some nice boutiques around.
A short walk puts you on the lovely beach promenade; on La Concha beach itself; in a lovely, vibrant plaza; or in the old city, which offers a huge number of choices of pinxtos bars and restaurants. I was only in San Sebastián for two days, so this location was perfect. The young woman who works in reception was one of the friendliest and kindest people I encountered in three weeks in Spain. Especially as a senior solo traveler, I really appreciated that.
Myself and my partner travelled to San Sebastian for a long weekend and I planned to propose to her there. Hotel Arbaso were incredibly helpful in planning the whole weekend for us and really made it special for us. The hotel is beautifully finished, with a fabulous restaurant. Location in fantastic and all the staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Can't wait to visit again, thank you Hotel Arbaso!
This hotel was way up on the mountain overlooking the town of San Sebastián and the ocean. It was a beautiful view. Parking was free. The room was spacious with a king bed and a large balcony with ocean and city view. We opted to leave the car and take taxis to town to avoid parking issues. The pool area has a beautiful view as well. The staff was nice and helpful.
Room was as expected and comfortable for a short stay. Self check in went very smooth. The location is nice, close to the beach and feels more local and quiet than the busy old town. The hotel is next to a road but the traffic wasn’t all too loud or busy.
Although not in the old town of San Sebastian, this hotel is in a lovely area, just yards from the beach. A beautiful walk along the bay to get to the city centre, but the street the hotel is on has a great selection of bars, cafes and restaurants.
The most comfortable and classy hotel I’ve stayed in during a 3 week tour of Northern Spain. You couldn’t improve it in any way at all. I paid £95 per night and in the Cotswolds where I live you’d struggle to get this quality for £300 per night!!
The hotel is at very central location. Ideal for discovering the old town and other parts of San Sebastian. Parking place is also close to the hotel. The staff were helpful and kind. The room was not very spacious but had a very large bathroom.
A very modern hotel, a little bit away from the center of the city, so there is no noise whatsoever. Close to the beach and a very pleasant walk to anything you would want to explore in San Sebastián/Donostia.
Great location just a few minutes walk to the old town and only 10 min walk from train station , coffee machine available which was great as a lot of places don’t even include coffee/tea facilities in Spain
The location is perfect. The apartment is modern and new and extremely clean. The host was so nice and helpful. Communication was prompt. This was one of the best stays we've had in Spain. Highly recommend!
