The hotel allowed us early check-in, which was great, as you have to walk from the parking garage 2 blocks away to get there! The rooms are small but lovely, location is very close to the Cathedral with lots of options for shopping and eating. Each floor has a seating a space area to sit and talk with friends. Parking is in Parking San Clemente, next to the police station. It is underground but there is a lift to street level. Walk straight out and up to Rua do Vilar, turn right to the hotel.

Santiago de Compostela is a nice place to visit but way more...
Santiago de Compostela is a nice place to visit but way more crowded than I anticipated. Suggest pre booking tickets to things you want to see. The cathedral and museum was wonderful. Also, suggest reviewing restaurant options and make reservations early for popular places. And pre-arrange a taxi two days prior to airport departure. If arriving by bus also pre-arrange a taxi.

Santiago is a beautiful historic city, with beautiful walks and good typical food, I highly recommend it. To eat a good tipical food, I recommnend the "EL BOMBERO" restaurant, it has almost 100 years serving good food.

We enjoyed visiting the cathedral and the surrounding old town. Also seeing the steady stream of pilgrims arriving elated at the main square in front of the cathedral. We had hoped to see the priests swinging the censor during mass, but this apparently only happens on certain days of the year. I think that 2-3 days is enough to see the sights.

The streets are narrow and confusing. I got lost a lot. The city is on hills so lots of inclines. But the food was great…a very unique experience. If you can handle the walking and have a gps on your phone, you will love it.

Excellent quality for this price! The hotel is not in Santiago de Compostella but in a suburb. That makes parking very easy and the rooms with uneven numbers have a lovely country and pool view. A bus to the old town for €1 passes by the hotel. If you arrive on a sunday you MUST give them your arrival time so they can receive you, because then they are closed but will be there to meet you. Maybe that's only out of season, I was there in november, but that I don't know. Everybody working there is very friendly and helpfull.
The location was fantastic - just off the central area. The owner has put a lot of effort into sound reduction. We slept peacefully through the loudest celebration of the year with a wild street party just around the corner. The owner was very helpful. The kitchen is very modern. Best washer in Spain. Wi-Fi was good. One of the reviews mentioned a loud bar below. We only saw a quiet breakfast place - recommend.
The hotel is very well located right next to the old town of Santiago and in walking distance from the main bus stop on Praza de Galicia. The host was very friendly and helpful in facilitating my arrival late at night. The room was small but cosy and very clean. The bathroom was modern and better appointed than in most hotels of this size and standard. The room was also very quiet and the bed comfortable.
The hotel is in a great location. Close to the cathedral. We stayed here one night. We were walking the camino to Santiago. Our room was very spacious, and our bathroom had a tub! The hotel helped us with our transportation to the airport. Great hotel. The staff was very polite and helpful. We will definitely stay here again on our next Camino. The bed and sheets were very comfy.
This is the second time I’ve stayed at Santa Filomena and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The rooms are quiet, spacious, modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful—and they speak English, if that helps you. The location is super convenient to just about everything in Santiago. It’s a great hotel and I’ll be back.
this was my best hotel on my trip! very hospitable hostess and wonderful atmosphere as if you were at home. They even prepared mulled wine for me, although they don't make it in Spain, and it was so good! :) The fire in the stove is cozy. I will return if possible. Above all praise. I highly recommend it!
The location was fabulous, the hotel staff speaks English and is friendly and helpful, and the room and beds are very comfortable. The architecture and furnishings are beautiful, harmonious, and create an atmosphere of old Spain The breakfast was the best we had on the Camino.
Location was great hotel cafe didn’t seem to be open while we were there for 3 nights and coffee making in the lounge was faulty. Location and room made up for it though and there is no shortage of places to eat in Santiago de Compostela. Overall great hotel for us
The staff of this hotel is very friendly and professional. The ladies doing check in are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Breakfast room is very clean and well run, with very decent food options. Good location near the historic center of Santiago.
Perfect location to finish Camino - near cathedral and bus station. There is air conditioning in the room 👍 A man from hotel stuff was really kind and helpful and despite we came earlier he let us in ❤ He speaks English which is not common in Spain.
Location of this hotel is the best one. right in the city center, everything you need is up to 5 minutes walking.
very clean, quite and good place to stay during your vacation.
I would definetely recomend to stay here.
This was my first time in Santiago de Compostela, and it won't be the last! This hotel is in a great location and the staff is amazing. We were able to pretty much walk everywhere. Clean. Staff were helpful.
The best location in Santiago. The friendliness and service of the staff is outstanding.
The breakfast buffet has no equal as compared to all places I have stayed at in Spain.
It is walking distance from the bus station. Easy to arrive if you’re starting the Camino in other cities in Spain.
Overall it was good, modest and clean.
